Good and fresh sandwiches. Small location, parking is horrible, but this is one of only three best sandwhich locations in the area. I'll always get a sandwhich from here when I'm around.
Yea they cornbeef and bacon cream chesse is good they have good soup

According to the catering menu, 80-100 people. The 6' feeds 30-40.
What company bakes Lenos sub bread ?
Is it Gonnela ? Some of the packages on the larger subs has the name printed on the bag.

Good sandwiches friendly peopleOk I've been reading others reviews the 1 star ones hahahahaa sorry but seriously you rate McDonald's culvets and horrible food places 5 stars? People don't listen to fools like that. Go try lenos yourself and be the judge. Seems some of the toonces on here giving ratings need their helmets on ffs enjoy a good sandwich

This is a real Sandwich shop, I do not know if people will know what that means, next to Jersey Mike's, this place is number 2. No one should try and compare this place to Subway because that is not a Sandwich shop.

Yummm......I've been going here for idk 15 years....yummmm!! Prices are pretty decent. If you wanna a sandwich that is not mass produced and tastes great here is the place! Love the Italian dressing and the bread is awesome! Hope to still eat here for another 15 yrs.

This long-standing Waukegan favorite serves up some of the best subs in the Chicago area. Always clean with ultra-friendly service, I'll take a Leno's sub over any popular franchise sub any day of the week.Although best known as a carry-out, this family-owned cozy little venue has some tables & seating as well as outdoor seating making it an even more enjoyable experience during the warmer months.Always tried my best to support local-owned businesses and Leno's has long been one of them. If you love subs then this is the place to be, folks!Keep up the great work making those tasty subs and I wish for continued prosperity and success for the owner(s).😎👍

Husband was station up there in 1974 an loves going there for the subs. Was watching food channel an they were showing sub places. My husband an I said wonder if their still there. So Googled it. We can still remember the smell, an loved the oil topping. Brings good memories back. Glad to hear your still there an doing good....

Great sandwiches, hot peppers, pickles , there sauce and fresh ingredients, delicious. This would of been a five star if it wasn't for the bread. Leno's, please make fresh bread.

What can I say about Leno's sandwich shop? It. Is delicious. They have delicious homemade side dshes, potatoes salad and coslelw. They have extensive inexpensive menu options. Leno's is amazing. A true Waukegan staple

These guys make wonderful solid hearty sandwiches. Their chili is really good and enjoyed the chicken noodle soup I had there once. They have a reeeeaallly huge selection of sandwiches. Only downside is getting to the parking lot is a little awkward.

This restaurant's sammiches are the bomb! Plenty of choices of sandwiches and drinks! Tiny place and gets busy real fast! The Texas Roast Beef I got was massive and ate it for lunch and dinner. Love the sweet and tangy banana peppers and the sauce on the side so the sandwich wont get soggy. The meat was very tasty and very generous. Staffs were very friendly and service was fairly fast.

Been there so long ago back in the 80' - 90's it was so good " THE BEST" !! Came back around within the last couple years and I think it's still the best.. new owners or next of kin it's still great.. read some reviews some not good but they must have pulled it together and its the way I remember it!! THE BEST SUB AROUND!! piss on subway or Jimmy John's along with who ever else out there they can't do it!! YOU GO LENOS!!

I was not happy. I ordered the veggie sub and was disappointed! Unlike Subway or Jimmy John's where they put effort into the sandwiches they sell, Leno's simply took a whole salad and just shoved it in a hoagie roll. I don't know what is going on but I've been constantly disappointed by the poor service and the quality of the restaurants in Waukegan. Tonight was a sign that I need to go to the city when I want to eat out.

My subs were cut like hot dog buns with mostly lettuce and tomato. No oil, vinegar or oregano---only Italian dressing which they never put in the bag! Should of drove all the way to Mr. Submarine in Fox Lake as I was buying 5 large ones. Lesson learned: IF YOU CAN'T SEE THEM MAKING IT---DON'T GO THERE!

I have to really give props to this sandwich shop. It checks off all of the right boxes to truly name this a place 'a gem hidden in the haystack'. Delicious subs with some decent variety. Very friendly service. Highly recommend to make this place your next lunch meal.

I’ve been a frequent customer of Leno’s for years. The family that owns it is so kind and they really take pride in their business. Fresh bread, fresh ingredients, I love the beef bacon and cream cheese! I call it the Robbie Bock special! I drive 40 minutes to get there and it’s definitely worth the trip!

Lenos is probably the only reason I would drive so far up north. Their sandwiches are so good, my favorite is the godfather. Taking out for sandwich might not sound appealing because it often gets soggy, but not at lenos, they have a special way of wrapping it up!

A longtime local favorite, as well as my own. The newer owners had the wisdom to resist trying to "improve" on near legendary sandwiches. If you prefer the almost canned-like sameness of most fast foods you may not "get it", but their subs rapidly become an absolute craving.
